Paragraph 1 (English)

Rana Pratap was defeated in the battle which he fought against the army of Emperor Akbar and so he had to take refugee in the foot hills of the Aravalli Mountains. He came there with the members of his family to pass his days in exile. The family of Rana Pratap was passing its days of distress. Even they were not getting food properly. The little boy was anxious for sweet cakes and so he longed for Delhi, because he could get sweet cakes there.

Hindi Translation

Paragraph 2 (English)

As they had to move from one place to another, they could not get a chance to read and write. Moreover they had fear that they might be caught by the people of Akbar to be carried away to Delhi. Mira the young wife was a very sensible lady. She was a true Rajput lady and was ready to meet death if her husband was not alive. This made Amar somewhat more careful about her safety.

Hindi Translation

Paragraph 4 (English)

Hindi Translation

He thanked him much and praised him saying that even a great man like Birbal was a shadow in comparison to the shrewdness of Bhama Shah. It was the greatest compliment given to Bhama Shah by Rana Pratap.
